ASA Metals concluded a successful External Audit of its Integrated SHEQ Management System by DQS during the week of 31 May 2010 to 4 June 2010. The outcome was the following:

• Certification for ISO 9001: 2008 (Quality Management System).
• Certification for ISO 14001: 2004 (Environmental Management System).

• Maintaining certification for BS OHSAS 18001 (Health & Safety Management System).

A total of 13 commendations were issued to the company by the Auditors, with specific reference to the Company’s Risk Assessment process that they considered “Best Practice”.

ASA Metals has decided to follow the SANS 16001:2007 Code to manage the risks posed to the company by HIV/AIDS. The goal is to subject the system to an External Certification Audit before the end of 2010.
